Donald Trump to Attend Nashville Bitcoin Conference

LUCKNOW (CoinChapter.com) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump is ready to make his scheduled appearance at the Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee, despite a recent assassination attempt. The three-day conference will be held between July 25-27 at the Music City Center.

Former President Confirmed to Attend BTC Event

David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and one of the event’s organizers, confirmed Trump’s participation. Bailey stated that he had “just spoken with the President’s team” and that the former president was “in good spirits” and is eager to participate in the upcoming Bitcoin event of the year.

Initially, conference organizers and attendees were concerned about potential changes to the high-profile speaker lineup following the security incident in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Donald Trump’s journey from crypto skeptic to Bitcoin advocate has been remarkable. During his presidency, he once dismissed Bitcoin as a “scam” and directed his Treasury Secretary to crack down on its use. However, his views changed later. In a recent Fox News interview, Trump acknowledged Bitcoin’s growing acceptance, stating:

I like the dollar, but many people are doing it [using Bitcoin], and frankly, it’s taken a life of its own.

The former president’s newfound openness towards Bitcoin appears to be part of a broader strategy to appeal to a younger, tech-savvy voter base as he campaigns for the 2024 presidential election. At a recent fundraiser in San Francisco, Trump expressed support for the U.S. Bitcoin industry. He emphasized the importance of Bitcoin mining by American companies, declaring:

We want all remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA.

The Nashville Bitcoin Conference will have a lineup of speakers alongside Trump, including whistleblower Edward Snowden, comedian Russell Brand, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood, and MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor. Trump’s 30-minute speech, scheduled on July 27, will cover his vision for the future of Bitcoin in the US and his plans to support the industry if re-elected.

Trump-themed Token’s Value Fell

Despite the confirmed news of Trump’s involvement in the conference, Trump-themed crypto tokens experienced slight decline. The MAGA token faced a significant 7.05% drop, with its price falling to $7.84.
